Emergency Plumbing Service
Plumbing emergencies happen abruptly, and often without any signs of warning. We understand how frustrating this can be, especially when it is in the middle of the night and out of nowhere your pipe bursts, room floods or gas leaks. However, be rest assured that our experienced emergency plumbers can address all types of urgent plumbing issues, at any point after-hours.
Whether you have a gas leak, a blocked drain, flooding or a burst pipe, it is vital that you address your plumbing emergencies as quickly as possible to prevent any further damage.
We consider a plumbing problem to be a plumbing emergency when it meets one (or more) of the following points:
- The problem is causing damage to your property
- The problem presents the possibility of human injury
- You just want the problem done as quickly as possible
Our emergency plumbing team can be readily deployed across Auckland to help with any plumbing emergencies.
How to tell if you have a plumbing emergency?
A plumbing emergency occurs when the normal functioning of a certain plumbing system has been disrupted and needs urgent attention to avoid substantial property damage or danger to people inside of the property.
Some examples of plumbing emergencies might include:
- a leak that is causing damage to your home
- a clogged toilet causing havoc
- a burst pipe or leaking pipes that have caused flooding
- a loud banging sound coming from your pipes
- a loss of hot water
- frozen pipes
- flooding caused by weather such as a storm
The most important thing to remember is to not panic. We have a dedicated after-hours plumbing response team that can swiftly get to your property in Auckland and fix any plumbing emergency that you may have.
Give us a call on 0800 374 500 and we will determine whether an emergency plumber needs to be sent out straight away.
What do you do if you have a plumbing emergency?
The first thing to do is stay calm and do not panic. Call our emergency plumbing response team on 0800 374 500. If you describe to us over the phone what’s happening, we will determine whether one of our emergency response team is needed, and how quickly we can come out to your property.
The next thing to do is to try to minimise the problem, if you can do so safely, before your plumber arrives. We want you to do this safely because we don’t want you to cause anyone to get hurt, and we don’t want you to cause any further damage.
A few things to try while waiting for an emergency plumber:
Stopping a leak – Turn off any sources of water near the leak. If there are no taps on, then if possible, turn off the main water supply to your house while you wait for your plumber. You’ll usually find this located at the front of your property, normally on the boundary, often under a black lid.
Stopping a blockage – If you have a blocked drain or pipe, don’t try to clear it by putting anything else down the pipe. Before you call out an emergency plumber, you might try to clear the blockage yourself. You can find a few tips on how to clear a blocked drain yourself here.
Clearing a blocked toilet – If you want to try to clear it yourself, we’ve provided a few easy steps you can follow here to clear a blocked toilet. We find that clients usually prefer to call us out to do it – the last thing you want to do with a blocked toilet is make it overflow even more causing a mess and possible damage to your flooring.
Emergency Leakage Repair
If you have a water leak, the first thing to do is turn off the main water supply to your house. You’ll usually find this located at the front of your property, normally on the boundary, often under a black lid.
Then give us a call and we will get one of our emergency plumbers out to you as soon as possible.
If you are able to identify the location of the leak and describe the type of pipe to us, this will help speed up the call-out and repair. This information can help ensure that the dispatched emergency plumber has the right equipment at hand and will help them head straight to the area of the leak. If you’re unsure about where the leak is coming from or what type of pipe is involved, that’s not a problem at all.
Our crew are all equipped with a large range of gear and supplies, and are ready to tackle almost any problem they encounter after-hours.
Emergency Pipe or Drain Blockage Repair
You can usually detect that you have a blockage in a pipe or drain by the sight or smell of wastewater in your overflow relief gully or gully trap. If you can see or smell dirty water there, then the gully is doing its job, stopping wastewater from your kitchen or bathroom from re-entering the house. What it means, however, is that something in your plumbing is not working as it should. There is likely a blockage somewhere that needs to be cleared.
If that’s the case, give us a call and we will get our drainage response truck out to you as quickly as possible to hydroblast the line. Also referred to as hydrojet drain clearing, this is a safe method of clearing blockages and because it uses only water, without chemicals, and is environmentally friendly to the surrounding vegetation. It is effective in clearing even the most stubborn drain blockages.
Fixing blocked pipes or drains is no problem for our emergency plumbers
Emergency Toilet Blockage Repair
A blocked toilet can be a huge inconvenience – and sometimes a messy job that you don’t want to deal with yourself. If you do want to attempt to clear it yourself, follow our easy-to-follow toilet unblocking instructions which can be found here.
If you’re still stuck (yes, that’s a bad toilet pun), get in touch with us for emergency assistance. We’ll either talk you through what else you can do, or we’ll despatch one of our emergency plumbers who can come out and help.
Urgent Plumbing Solutions
Our Auckland emergency plumbing services are available to minimise any damage or inconvenience caused at your place of residence or work.
In many instances we can fix the problem in the initial call-out. If the problem is extensive and we need to return to complete the project, we’ll do everything we can at the initial visit to minimise any damage or inconvenience the plumbing emergency is causing. Our aim is to get your plumbing working properly as effectively and quickly as possible.
We’ll do all we can to minimise the amount of after-hours work performed, and complete what we can during regular working hours to resolve the issue.
For example, if your hot water cylinder has burst, it is not normally viable to replace it on an emergency call-out. However, we can isolate it so that you still have cold water and it is no longer leaking or causing damage. Or in some cases where there is a leak inside a wall, we will cap off the pipe in your attic space or under the house to allow your water to be turned back on, and come back later to run new pipes to the fixture.
